Does eco-friendly printing cost more?

Does eco-friendly printing cost more?

Traditionally, eco-friendly alternatives have always been more expensive, however we do our best to offer competitive prices. Many of our small runs are actually cheaper than our non-eco-friendly competitors!

Is the recycled paper poor quality?

Is the recycled paper poor quality?

It definitely isn't! In fact, it's so indistinguishable from regular paper that many of our clients like to put a recycled logo on their printing. (See below for the logos we have on file.)

But if you're looking for a recycled paper with grainy and fibrous textures, we have plenty of those too! We even have papers made from Beer Barrel Dregs, Rhino Poo, Elephant Poo, Marshland, Straw, Hay, Grass, Shredded Bank Notes, Coffee, Bananas and even Wild Seed Paper which if planted grows wild flowers or lavendar!!! (and a plethora of other weird materials!)

Why bother?

Why bother?

It is commonly understood that producing recycled paper uses between 28% and 78% less energy than its equivalent produced from virgin fibre. The recycling process also adds considerably fewer pollutants to the air.

Using paper produced from FSC and managed woodland sources is a positive step in the right direction, it can be argued that managed forests do not replace the natural eco systems originally destroyed by deforestation. Recycled paper uses post-consumer waste that would otherwise end up in landfill, decompose and produce greenhouse gases.

So help us make a genuine difference to the environment, make your printing truly green and use us.

How do I prepare artwork?

How do I prepare artwork?

Basic artwork

If none of your printed material extends off the edge of your artwork, then simply save to the size of the item required.

Bleed

If anything prints off the edge of the page, the artwork you send us needs to have 3mm bleed on each edge. This is so when we trim it down to size there's no white lines on the sides. The bleed area should not have any text on it and should only continue the design off the edge of the page, for example a background colour or photograph.

Colour

Ideally all the printing you send over should be in CMYK colour mode, this way you will get the most realistic idea of what your final prints will look like.

Sending files

You can send your artwork to printing@ecoprintUK.com drop it off in person or arrange for an FTP space to be set up for you on our server. See below for file types we accept.

Digital stationary will go through any inkjet printer and most laser printers. We would recommend testing on your laser printer to be sure. We would be happy to send samples.

Unfortunately we can't guarantee when you'll be available to pick up your printing or receive it from couriers, so our time estimates quote the time when the printing will be finished, not when it arrives on your doorstep.
